Mayor Joe Kirwan

I have lived in Melville since 1984. I was first elected to City Council in 2016. After serving two four- year terms as a councilor I decided to enter the election for Mayor in the 2024 civic election. 

I have been actively involved in our community in a variety of ways including Chairperson of Rail City Industries Board for 12 years, Chairperson of the Melville and District Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee, member of the Melville Heritage Museum Board, member of the St. Paul Lutheran Home Board, member of the Melville and District Community Foundation Board. I also volunteer as an off-ice official for the Millionaire hockey games. 

I believe in our community for what it is and what it can be, and I believe that working together we can meet all challenges and achieve good results for Melville.
